Comparison sheet / WordPress vs ContractorWebStudioHub

WordPress or a managed website for a trade contractor?

WordPress is the right choice when you want total control and have a developer, or the time yourself, to keep its core, theme and plugins updated, backed up and fast. A trade contractor who wants the same flexibility without owning the upkeep is usually better off with a managed site, where the build, hosting, security and every change are handled for one monthly fee.

Short verdict WordPress wins on flexibility and plugin choice. The managed site wins when nobody at the business wants to maintain plugins, hosting and speed.

01 The other option

What is WordPress?

WordPress is open source publishing software that runs a large share of the web. You install it on hosting you choose, pick a theme and add plugins for forms, SEO, galleries and more. It is free to use; hosting, premium themes, plugins and developer time are where the costs sit.

03 Fair call

When WordPress is the better fit

  • You have a developer you trust, or you enjoy running the site yourself.

  • You need a specific plugin, such as a complex booking or e-commerce setup, that only exists for WordPress.

  • You want the site files on hosting you control from day one.

  • You already have a WordPress site that is fast, current and ranking. Keep it.

04 Our call

When a managed trade site wins

  • Your current WordPress site has not been updated in months and nobody wants the job.

  • Plugin conflicts or a slow theme have cost you calls, and you want speed guaranteed instead.

  • You want one monthly fee covering hosting, security, updates, revisions and articles.

  • You would rather send a change request than log in to a dashboard.

05 Sequence

Moving off WordPress without losing what ranks

We do not import WordPress themes or plugins. We rebuild every page worth keeping in our own system, redirect every old URL to its new page and check your email setup before the domain moves, so rankings and links carry over.

  1. 01

We crawl your WordPress site and list every page, post and image worth keeping.

  2. 02

We rebuild them in the new structure, with a page per service and per town.

  3. 03

Every old URL gets a 301 redirect to its new equivalent.

  4. 04

We check email records, switch the domain and retire the old hosting when you are ready.

07 Client notes

What contractors say after switching

  • People used to ask for "a floor quote". Now the form tells us the room, the square footage and whether they want LVP or hardwood, so the first call is about options, not basics.

Angela RussoGeneral manager, flooring installation companyPittsburgh, Pennsylvania · Site Crew · Sample
  • Half our work is fences and half is garage doors, and the old site mixed them together. Now each has its own pages and the form sends the garage door emergencies straight to my phone.

WordPress vs ContractorWebStudioHub: questions

Is WordPress bad for contractors?

No. Plenty of contractor sites run well on WordPress. The difference is who keeps it fast, updated and secure. With us, that is our job and it is inside the monthly fee.

Can you move my WordPress blog posts?

Yes. Posts worth keeping are rebuilt on the new site and their old URLs redirect to the new ones, so links and rankings carry over.

Will I lose my Google rankings if I leave WordPress?

We minimize the risk with a 301 redirect for every old URL and by keeping the pages that already rank. Some short-term movement is normal with any site change.

Do I need plugins with your site?

No. Forms, galleries, schema and speed work are built into the site, so there is nothing to install or update.

Can I still edit the site myself?

You send changes rather than editing directly. 5 revisions a month are included, each done within 2 to 5 working days, and a revision can be as large as a new service page.

What about my WordPress hosting bill?

Hosting, SSL, CDN and DDoS protection are inside our monthly fee, so the separate hosting bill can end once the domain has moved.

Is a custom-coded site faster than WordPress?

Not automatically, but ours is guaranteed at 90+ PageSpeed on mobile and desktop, and we fix any page of ours that drops below it at no charge.

Do I own my site like I do with WordPress?

Your domain is registered in your name and your content is yours. If you leave, we export your content and articles within 14 days. The design and code we create stay ours, as the terms explain.
