01 Existing conditions

Where the site started, and what it cost the office

Starting point

The existing trade service requests pages had collected links over the years from staff emails, printed material and external listings. A redesign was about to change several addresses.

The problem

When it comes to trade service requests, a rebuild without a redirect plan would quietly break years of shared links. The business had no map of what pointed where.

02 As built

What we built

Every old address was cataloged and paired with an appropriate new page, tested before go-live. The rebuilt reference pages present service boundaries and contractor credentials with labels consistent with the reorganized site.

Features used

  1. 01URL inventory
  2. 02Redirect map
  3. 03Internal link updates
  4. 04Missing-page checks
  5. 05Launch review

03 Programme

How long it took

20 working days after content approval, including staff review and handover.

20 working days
Scale: working days from content approval. Staff review and handover included.

04 As handed over

What changed

With trade service requests, old links resolve to sensible destinations instead of error pages. The work preserves access; no claim is made about search positions.

The old trade service requests link is in years of our correspondence. Seeing exactly where it would land mattered more to me than the new color scheme.

Questions about this project

How long did this project take?

20 working days after content approval, including staff review and handover. The clock started once the client had approved the content, so the staff review and the handover sit inside that time rather than after it.

Which parts of the plan did this use?

The build used url inventory, redirect map, internal link updates, missing-page checks, launch review. Those sit under move from your old site without losing ground (on every plan).

Why is the business not named?

Client case studies are anonymized on purpose. The client is described as a carpentry and joinery workshop in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and the quote is from Leslie Moorcroft, office manager, used with permission.

Can you do the same for flooring contractors?

Yes. The same approach is part of a managed plan from $127 a month, with the $697 build fee invoiced only after launch. On a demo call we show the pages and forms your trade would get before you commit.
