Where the site started, and what it cost the office

Starting point

The trade service requests page amounted to a few general sentences. Neither the limits of an online request nor the need for confirmation were mentioned.

The problem

Day to day with trade service requests, assumptions hardened into expectations before anyone spoke. Staff opened calls by unwinding what the page had allowed people to believe.

02 As built

What we built

The revised page draws a clean line between published information, initial requests and confirmed arrangements. It sets service boundaries and contractor credentials beside a concise explanation of a scheduling call from the relevant trade team, with every limitation reviewed by the business.

03 Programme

How long it took

15 working days after content approval, including staff review and handover.

15 working days
Scale: working days from content approval. Staff review and handover included.

04 As handed over

What changed

For trade service requests, the distinction between asking and agreeing is now explicit. Staff spend the first call on the customer's situation, not on revising the website's wording.

I no longer brace for the 'but your website said' moment. The trade service requests wording is careful because we finally made it careful.

Questions about this project

How long did this project take?

15 working days after content approval, including staff review and handover. The clock started once the client had approved the content, so the staff review and the handover sit inside that time rather than after it.

Which parts of the plan did this use?

The build used scope explanation, staff-reviewed limitations, request status wording, related reference links. Those sit under a page for every service you run (on every plan) and compliance pages built in (on every plan).

Why is the business not named?

Client case studies are anonymized on purpose. The client is described as a loft conversion and carpentry firm in Plano, Texas, and the quote is from Teresa Eccleston, customer care coordinator, used with permission.

Can you do the same for flooring contractors?

Yes. The same approach is part of a managed plan from $127 a month, with the $697 build fee invoiced only after launch. On a demo call we show the pages and forms your trade would get before you commit.
